Who We Are
Scarborough Family Support Program is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to relieving poverty and financial hardship among low-income families, seniors, children, youth, and other vulnerable individuals in Scarborough and surrounding communities.
We provide food, clothing, and essential support services at no cost, ensuring individuals and families have access to basic necessities while maintaining dignity, stability, and well-being.
Founded on July 2, 2021, by Princess Onerhime Obukofe, Scarborough Family Support Program was established in response to the widespread hardship faced by families during the global COVID-19 pandemic. As many households struggled to meet basic needs, the organization emerged from a strong call to serve families in urgent need of support.
Drawing from her experience as a Personal Support Worker, the founder developed a deep passion for supporting seniors and vulnerable individuals. This lived experience continues to shape the organization’s compassionate approach to service, recognizing that caring for others today builds a stronger and more supportive community for tomorrow.
Scarborough Family Support Program believes in the power of community, compassion, and shared responsibility. Volunteers are always welcome to join us in supporting families, seniors, and individuals in need—because when we help others today, we help build a future where support is available for all.
